Two final years of genuine research and independent thinking, built to open doors to the best universities in the world and to develop inquiring, caring, independent global citizens.
The curriculum
Year 12 and 13 students study across six subject groups — Language and Literature, Language Acquisition, Individuals and Societies, Sciences, Mathematics, and The Arts — taking three subjects at Higher Level and three at Standard Level.
Every student also completes the IB Core: Theory of Knowledge (exploring how we know what we know), the Extended Essay (an independent research project), and Creativity, Activity and Service (CAS). A minimum of 24 points is needed to pass, including at least 12 from Higher Level subjects and 9 from Standard Level — with up to three further points available from the Core.
A course in critical thinking and how we learn.
An in-depth, independent research project.
Creativity, Activity and Service — building wellbeing and community impact.
A day in this stage
Three subjects taken at Higher Level, three at Standard Level, across six subject groups.
The Extended Essay pushes students into genuine, self-directed academic investigation.
Creativity, Activity and Service hours turn into real projects — from pilot training to hydrogen car racing.
Subject choice and CAS experience are built around each student’s university and career ambitions.
